I Heart Editing

I can't wait for tomorrow. It's the start of the two-day editing blitz at Bloom Magazine to rid the issue of any lingering errors. It may be my very favorite Bloomington event. I get giddy with anticipation when I think of slaying errant commas and introducing crucial hyphens. Associate Editor Ron Eid and I get into heated debates over spelling out ordinals, and I often wind up writing photo captions (such as "heavy, metal guitar" to describe the Joe Lamantia collage on Seventh and Walnut).
This is how much I love grammar: I went absolutely wild with happiness when I found this discussion on how to quote a passage that has incorrectly used "sic."
I've had some really fun editing projects recently: creating a coherent tone for HPER Dimensions Magazine; editing a grant proposal for funding to study re-forestation in Costa Rica. Editing is like candy for me. I crave it.
What written materials do you have that could use an editor's eye?
