I received one of the Society of Professional Journalists' "Best in Indiana" awards for the third year running: Second Place for Medical/Science reporting for my story on the IU School of Medicine in Kenya with Sylvia McNair. Here's a link to the article. I'm told there are hundreds of entries for these! 

I also got honorable mention for my story on Bloomington artisans. Designer Kaye Lee Johnston got Second Place for the article's layout!

Previous wins were First Place for Education Reporting in 2009 for my story on an independent K-12 school and First Place for Non-deadline Magazine Reporting in 2008 for my story on neuroscientist Jill Bolte Taylor.
