First Place Win at Statewide Journalism Awards

My Bloom Magazine story "The Duanys' Amazing Journey" won 1st place for coverage of government and politics (any publication other than a daily newspaper) at the Society of Professional Journalists statewide awards. I also earned second and fourth place wins for two of my personality profiles and a 3rd place in sports reporting. It was a good year!

Prestigious Formas grant for researcher

New book available: Words that Changed the World

This is my second book on great historic speeches for Publications International. It includes an audio component with clips from great speeches from Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" to Mother Teresa's Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech. I wrote essays contextualizing each speech's historical significance.
